Aubrey Lilliana Murphy
Actor, Singer, Composer
ABOUT ME!
Aubrey Lilliana is a Philadelphia native who always longed for a life on the stage. As a little Black trans girl, Aubrey saw The Wiz and was inspired by the beautiful Black performers she saw which sparked her interest in pursuing a life in the performing arts. By the time she was in the fifth grade, she was in her school's production of Aladdin Jr as Iago, and ever since hearing the audience laugh with her upbeat personality she has practically lived on the stage. Her performance endeavors lie beyond just the theater as she has played the violin since the fifth grade, composing music, and directing theater productions. Aubrey wants to show that trans individuals on stage not only should be commonplace but is also a must. She strives to be an example for young trans women of color who are interested in performing because she believes that every voice should be heard and every face should be seen in the theater.
Some of her favorite performance opportunities were playing Sebastian in The Little Mermaid (The Kimmel Center), a production that was praised by composer Alan Menken, and a critically acclaimed production of Kinky Boots as Lola at the Delaware's most historic theatre.
When not on stage, Aubrey can be seen enjoying Zendaya, watching every MCU movie in existence, and binging trashy reality television.
